The contemporary Stations of the Cross was inaugurated by Pope John Paul II at the Colosseum in Rome in 1991. In this modern version five new stations have been introduced replacing those from the traditional format with which you might be familiar.

This is an interactive experience where you are encouraged to use your imagination to enter the Biblical scene. Sacred text, art and music combine in this presentation to enable the meditator to move to a deeper contemplative experience.
